Charging at home, done right
A home EV charger is far quicker and safer than charging from a standard power point. Getting it right starts at your switchboard, so we check your supply and switchboard capacity before anything goes on the wall.
We install the charger on its own dedicated circuit with the right protection, and run the cable neatly to your garage, carport or driveway. Businesses can add workplace charging for staff and customers too.
Every installation is tested and certified, and we will talk you through the options before you choose a charger.
What's included
- Switchboard and supply capacity check first
- Dedicated circuit with the right protection
- Tidy cable runs to the garage or driveway
- Home and workplace chargers
- Switchboard upgrades where needed
- Tested and certified on completion

EV chargers FAQs
Straight answers to the questions we hear most. Anything else, Jamie is happy to talk it through.
Do I need an electrician to install an EV charger?
Yes. A wall charger is wired on its own circuit from your switchboard, which is prescribed electrical work. It must be installed by a licensed electrician and comes with a Certificate of Compliance.
How much does it cost to install an EV charger?
It depends on the charger you choose, how far it is from your switchboard, and whether your board needs upgrading to take the load. We check all three, then give you a fixed, upfront quote.
Do I need a switchboard upgrade for an EV charger?
Not always. It depends on your supply and how much spare capacity your switchboard has. We check both before we quote, and only recommend an upgrade if the charger needs it.
Can I charge my EV from a normal power point?
You can, but it is slow and not designed for hours of heavy load every night. A dedicated wall charger on its own circuit is faster and safer.
Do you install workplace chargers?
Yes. We install chargers for businesses as well as homes, and can advise on how many your supply can support.
Is the work certified?
Yes. Every job is finished to the AS/NZS 3000 wiring rules and signed off with the right Electrical Safety Certificate (ESC) or Certificate of Compliance (CoC), so your insurance and any future sale are covered.
